Appointed Regional Spiritual Assistant for the Divine Mercy Region on July 18, 2024, Br. John Paul Gill, OFM Cap., brings to the Secular Franciscan family a deep commitment to Franciscan spirituality, pastoral care, and service to the People of God. A member of the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph, his ministry has included parish work, spiritual formation, and outreach to the marginalized, always reflecting the Capuchin charism of simplicity, fraternity, and compassion for the poor.
As Regional Spiritual Assistant, Br. John Paul accompanies local fraternities in their ongoing conversion, offering guidance, encouragement, and a steady presence rooted in the Gospel. His work fosters unity with the broader Franciscan family and inspires Secular Franciscans to live their Rule with joy, humility, and authenticity.
Br. Julius Milton, OFM Cap.
Serving the Divine Mercy Region as a Regional Spiritual Assistant, Br. Julius Milton, OFM Cap., is known for his approachable spirit, listening heart, and ability to make the Gospel tangible in daily life. A professed member of the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph, Br. Julius shares his gifts most visibly through his ministry at the Capuchin Retreat Center in Washington, Michigan, where he offers retreat presentations, spiritual direction, and an atmosphere of peace and welcome.
Br. Julius was appointed to this role by the OFM Brothers of Our Lady of Guadalupe Province and represents the Province in his work as a Spiritual Assistant. In this capacity, he accompanies Secular Franciscans with pastoral guidance and a Franciscan spirit, encouraging fraternity life marked by simplicity, joy, and mutual care. His ministry builds bridges between laity and religious, fostering a shared Franciscan mission and inspiring all to live the Gospel with warmth, generosity, and the joy of St. Francis.
